Ice Hotel!

I was reading a book about unusual hotels, and came to this one: Icehotel, a hotel built entirely of snow and ice in the Swedish Arctic. It's sculpted by artists every winter, and in the spring is allowed to melt away again. The insulating snow keeps the rooms at a balmy -5 degrees C. no matter how cold it gets outside (and it gets a lot colder!)
I think it's pretty obvious what the appeal of Icehotel is for me (click on pictures for the room's web page):

(the one above is probably my favorite, not only for its look but because it's named the "Yin/Yang Suite").

So whatta ya say? Superman Fan Conference at the Icehotel in 2011? :D

Date: 2009-03-05 03:52 am (UTC)LOL, I'd probably be really nervous. "Uh, I broke your coffee table..." :) And yeah, they recommend a LOT of thermal underwear and such, lol...although apparently once you're actually in the bed it's very nice!

Thanks so much for posting those, not sure it gives me a plot bunny or not, but I do like the idea of them.
