Scans: Batman/Superman!

I haven't been posting many scans here--on the one hand, there's too much to post as Clark and Bruce interact quite a lot. On the other hand, not many of those interactions have a lot of emotional heft, so it's hard to pick anything out to post. HOWEVER, this month's Batman/Superman title had a sequence that was just too good to not share.
The setup: a mysterious super-villain is targeting the non-powered people who are important to Superman. In the issue before, Batman goes to Lois Lane and presents her with a plan: she pretends to be Superman's secret lover (remember, Clark is actually dating the super-powered Wonder Woman, who wouldn't make a good target) in an attempt to draw the villain out to attack her. He gets everything set up, then opens a channel to Clark, claims it's secure (it's not, so the villain can hear them) and sets up the trap:

After that second panel, I actually sighed out loud and said "Oh Bruce, don't you know that's you?" Alas, the fate of shipper is that I always have to do the work myself, right?

Clark realizes Bruce's plan is to trick the villain into attacking Lois, so he and Kara take off to intercept the bullet on its way. BUT:

(OK, at this page I almost threw the comic across the room, I was so startled and delighted).
YES.

I mean...WOW. I love so much when Superman/Batman writers are just like "You know what? They're the most important people in each others' lives, and that's just a fact." Pak is very sparing with these moments, but when he provides them, they're solid gold.
Oh, and when Clark catches him out of the air, Bruce looks up at him and says "It was the only way...I just didn't think it would be me..." and if that isn't the slashiest thing (it never crossed his mind that he was the person Clark confides in the most and trusts the most! As he builds an elaborate trap based on his intimate knowledge of Clark's emotional life!) then I just don't know what is.

Date: 2015-08-25 06:55 pm (UTC)Lois has outed Clark? She'd never do that! Well, I suppose I have no idea how they are writing her in the new titles, so ... But I agree WEIRD. How on earth is Clark going to cope whne he can't retreat into his human life anymore?
ETA: Jim Gordon in a Batman suit though, ... *fans self*

And Clark wants to try to force him to remember who he really is, and Alfred has told him now to, and it's basically fanfic at this point, I think.*grin* I'm pretty sure Clark won't be showing up regularly in Bruce's title, but that's an impressive cameo!
