Batman/Superman #3: Written by Greg PAK; art (in these scans) by Yildiray CINAR In Batman/Superman #3, the material set in Earth-2 still features a lot of punching and exposition, with very little interaction between Batman and Superman. However, there's an interlude in which Earth-2's Superman remembers how he first met Bruce, and it is pretty much the most adorable thing ever. For starters, it's an AU of the short interlude by Jeph Loeb in Superman/Batman which showed a brief scene where Clark and Bruce almost met in our world--a newly-orphaned Bruce's car breaks down in Smallville, and Clark considers asking him to join a baseball game, but decides against it. In Earth-2, Pak posits, things went a little differently: ashdghhasejhvjhadbg Bruce's face. "So after he threw me on the ground and broke a stick over my head, we were best friends forever." But more seriously, I love how Clark is terrified of people fearing him, while Bruce wants it more than anything, they are the cutest wee versions of themselves ever.

This is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. It's hitting a ton of my favorite canon-characters-as-children kidfic tropes. And it's canon!

I know, it's just plain canon kidfic and it makes me deliriously happy! Ahhhh, now I wish Earth-2 was canon (well, other than the fact both Clark and Bruce are dead in it in the present...alas...)

Everytime I think I am DONE with DC, they come out with something like this and remind me why I fell in love with the characters in the first place. Thank you for sharing all the best stuff so I don't have to wade through the dreck stuff that isn't to my taste to find it. <3

OMG, this is like the beginning of a million fanfics. I remember the original version this is riffing off of (I think I have it somewhere, actually) and this is awesome. How awesome? SUPER AWESOME. Because Bruce figures out the truth about Clark and wants people to be scared of him and just, I CAN'T. fdsjklsfdajksfjdkajklsfd

Oh man, there is SO MUCH STUFF that is not worth wading through right now, my pull list is about to go through a major pruning, to be honest. BUT BUT BUT there are little gems like this one--it gives me hope that Pak can actually write these two, and that when he takes over Action Comics it might not be too disastrous? *crosses fingers*

Also, I am super super far behind on everything, obviously, but yay for you possibly being here in November! It's an awful month for us, to be honest--it always is, there's tons of conferences and meetings--but I will email you soon and let you know what looks most promising and we'll hope we can intersect!
