This is just as effective as the first time, and now I realise that this is the moment the ring wraiths are defeated.
I love the description of Bilbo using the wet sand for sprucing his feet clean. It adds so much to the change in mood.
I also realise that rosemary and thyme are so effective for inciting homesickness in Bilbo because they probably grow wild in the shire AND remind him of home cooked meals!
