Ahhh, you always give me so much to think about and usually once I digest it all it ends up giving me some awesome ideas for the future, so thank you!
On the other? Whether Clark knows it or not, he just kicked Luthor in the nads for kicking Bruce in the nads. So I guess now we know that Luthor knows who Bruce is - which would fit
There is a fair amount of nod-kicking in that scene! I don't think Lex knows for sure about Bruce--he was taking a shot in the dark and was interested to see that it does land. Then Clark takes his own shot in the dark, and that one connects too, and now everyone's angry.
I liked the touch of self-serving honest human worry with J.Duffy. Worry about repercussions cause of Zucco's connections, her own future, etc. The unpleasantness of the world that makes honesty and justice so high priced to achieve; the invisible taxes.
Gotham rogues are always so oddly nuanced and real, so much more so than any of the other villain sets--I don't know why, but it means they translate really well into "real people" with their mix of decent and selfish motivations.
Meanwhile; I don't now how Lex ever thought Bruce would let it drop? Heck, I'm surprised given the background set-up that Lex would let it drop at all - especially if he felt guilty. But maybe that's just my take on Lex?
Yeah, I wobble back and forth on that. I imagine this Lex as being ruthlessly focused on the future--he won't work with Zucco any more for the sake of his wrestlers, but he's going to put his "empire" ahead of justice. He feels guilty, but not liable, I think, if the way I'm looking at it. The PR side is complex, though, and I know what you mean about Dick. Lex feels like he's doing a lot for Dick (it hasn't come up yet because of Lex being what he is, but all the proceeds from the match tonight will go toward a fund for Dick) and I don't think he understands a need for vengeance/closure at a gut level.
And lastly... I admit confusion with Barda. I mean, I get she's emotional and she thinks it's cheap. Or maybe she just thinks it has to be a business decision because it's Lex.
I actually think it's a great deal the latter--there's still a lot of resentment toward Lex for driving small promotions out of business, and I think some people are ready to believe the worst of him no matter what the situation. I suspect if he'd canceled shows a lot of the same people would have been angry at him for that as well. I'm wondering how many of them will relent and help with the closure, I've been eyeing them and they haven't been very forthcoming yet. :P
