I've said it before to others and I say it again. I'd rather read Mithen specifically (but other fanfic writers as well) than the published canon. Because it often feels like the execs have forgotten all about friendship, heroism, sacrifice and the greater good (as well as the bombasticity of a truly epic villain).

And Mithen knows she's my favourite DC writer. And it's probably the same for others
