I am not ready. I don't want to read it. *stares at 35/35* No.

I want to read it. No.

Promise there will be new fic? I don't want to leave them. Although. Time for art, now that I am caught up I can prioritize. Hm. I'm thinking of a post where I at least gather all the rough, and not so rough, and barely recognizable sketches so I at least give you something for all this incredible work!

Okay – deep breath.

and Legolas has not been dragged back to the Greenwood by an armed band of elves, yes.”

There's always time for that later. A sneak attack is already in the works.

That was...kind of worse,” admitted Bilbo. “I wonder if--”

Poor long suffering Elrond. Now I wonder what Bilbo was wondering about.

Thorin could see the familiar green door had been freshly-painted and the window-boxes were overflowing with pink and purple flowers--phlox, he managed to remember. It looked cozy and comfortable, and Thorin felt his heart thud in his breast. Home.

YES. SATISFACTION ACHIEVED

“Primula!” Bilbo beamed at her. “Thorin, this is my cousin, Primula Baggins--though she’s a Brandybuck by birth, of course.”

Oh good for her! And good for Bilbo that she kept the Sackville-Bagginses away.

All these hobbity good manners make me feel all warm and fuzzy...

“I was just a little girl, but--weren’t you one of the dwarves that spent Yule here, the other time Cousin Bilbo went missing?”

Oh yes, people will remember that handsome dwarf!

“Can this be little Frodo?

He's going to have SO MUCH FUN growing up!

“And this is Thorin! He’s a dwarf!”

Don't forget *majestic *. SNORT

“Oh, that’s--that’s his first word!”

Awwwwwwwww.

but some have been recorded in the Red Book of Westmarch and can be read there.

found Petunia happily eating the phlox out of the window-boxes.

That obnoxious horse!

“Help? Allow? But you--you’re so--” “I do not wish to put the Shire’s smith out of business,” said Thorin. “I will be happy to make horseshoes and mend pots. It is a quiet life, and a new challenge

He can always make special presents for birthdays and such. I am sure there are many occasions when Hobbits have need of courting gifts and holiday gifts. And Thorin becomes known after a time for making some at a reasonable price (the true price for such craftsmanship would of course be much higher, but the Hobbits don't know that, though maybe some suspect and don't question their good luck. )

“Truly, you could have stayed,” Bilbo said politely, though Thorin was not sure he was truly enthused at the idea

NO! Then there'd be no naked running around and chasing each other, or surprise caresses which turn into something more heated, or the peace and quiet that they so sorely need.

“And this room is yours,”

woot?

He coughed. “In Erebor, we shared the same quarters.”

Quite right!

“Sharing a room before we were formally wed?”

Oh come on! Bilbo is pulling his leg here! Of course he'll sneak into Thoprin's room in the night, won't he?

feeling more exhausted than he had since he stood at the Cracks of Doom.

YES people are draining. So many strangers!

Wait. Ginger, pepper, trout and mushroom? Quite adventurous cuisine, if I may say so!

“Separate rooms,” murmured Bilbo as he nestled against him, “does not mean separate beds. You have much to learn about how to keep up appearances in the Shire.”

A HA!

The wedding took a full eight months to organize and prepare for, a delay that Thorin found exasperating in the extreme.

I'm with you on that! *fervent glare *

his alarming facial hair

LOL!!!

so much in demand making pretty tin star-decorations for that year’s Star Festival that he became practically popular.

HA! I knew it!

where Thorin made him cunning toys: a bronze grasshopper that could really leap; a tin whistle shaped like a pig

YAY!

For months before, mysterious packages arrived with strange writing scrawled on them,

Oh, oh!

pretty crystals that could almost be mistaken for diamonds

HOBBITS! No eye for quality of stones. But that's what you've got Thorin for. And how happy am I that Wandlimb and Dís worked together on this?

Thorin Oakenshield clasped hands beneath sun and the sky and swore to cherish and protect each other, to share in hardships and in joys, and to be true of heart until the end of their days

It's so strange. They've checked everything off that list already...

The only break with tradition people noted was that the couple did not exchange rings, but it was generally concluded this was some odd dwarvish custom in which Mr. Baggins had indulged his betrothed.

OUCH

in the shape of a viola

Oh! The flower! Of course my mind went to the instrument first.

He held out a long thin object in both hands, and Bilbo opened it to reveal an oiled-paper umbrella printed with cheerful daisies. And Bilbo Baggins laughed, and then he cried, and then he laughed again, and he held the umbrella to shield them from the cheering crowd and kissed his husband soundly from within its sheltering shadow.

Oh! I'd forgotten about that. And immediately useful!!!! I am sorry that none of the fellowship were able to come – even with 8 months notice. But ME is a big place I know. And they have their responsibilities...

The atmosphere at the end is perfect.

“The Passing of the Ringbearers.”

THANK YOU! I was a bit worried when I saw the ending of the page... I can't let this go yet.

You are my treasure true.

Dito a thousand times. This was a marvellous epic to enjoy and has been a steadfast companion through a time of great changes in my personal life. I am looking forward to the appendixes and hope to repay you soon in art!
