AUGH THANK YOU for keeping me company through all this! I posted it and went right to bed last night because I was oddly heartbroken.
Also, thank you so much for reminding me there had to be some way around the Sackville-Baggins attack! I had just been assuming they could come straight home, and you reminded me it might be a problem, and then I realized that within this time frame Bilbo would potentially have an ally!
The wedding gifts made me a little weepy, first the ones pouring in from all over the world, and then the ones to each other...I'm not sure what broke my heart more, the heart's ease, or the umbrella.
The wedding gifts got me right in the heart to write, imagining all their friends sending things along! And when I realized the umbrella just had to make it back in (I had one sweet reviewer who was just heartbroken about losing the umbrella and wanted it back, so...) it felt just right.
I'm actually hoping other Appendices will crop up! I'm definitely trying to leave it open to different times of Thorin and Bilbo's life over the next few decades...
