I was actually just expanding on this elsewhere--part of the reason it's got to be fanfic for me instead of professional writing is that it's an area of my life where I'm not at all self-conscious! I'm usually super-self-conscious about...well, everything, and when writing something that I'm writing just for the love of it, I can really lose myself in it and not think about anything but the words and the images. It's a really pleasant kind of escape and yeah, you can tell from my output how satisfying I find it, lol. :)
