I get that you're trying to get that Clark never considered such a domestic life with a man. It does read a little bit like he's allowing himself to recognize that Bruce really is Bruce Wayne (the one and only), however.
PS: I love their little apt as 'the cave'. It's perfect. It's where they have their secret intimate lives, where they heal, where they train. It's perfect. It's the 'truth' in a way often missed about the cave in mainstream canon and fanon. Not that Batman is the 'true' face. But that the cave IS where he's the most himself.
