I like the continuation of the 'silent' B & S conversations. I love those moments in canon stories (when possible) and particularly in manon (Mithen Canon) and this story specifically.
My imagination always loves thinking of JL meetings where Clark goes 'B' to object to some plan or scheme. And Batman tilts his head and pulls his cloak tighter and the rest of the JL watched the apparent 'silence' going back and forth, until suddenly Batman goes.
"Fine. Compromise of ...."
And Supes is. "But we can keep the ...."
And the ... they're keeping hadn't even been brought up yet.
Yes, once in a while when I was reading DC Canon, I'd imagine it was so much better :p
Meanwhile, I giggle at Tim being in awe of Dick vs Bruce. And I cringe at the firing of the cables mechanic. Especially because I think this/your Lex is NOT going to enjoy playing the villain/uncaring corporate type about what's coming. Lex Luthor's legacy to me is as the anti-hero no one understands because his 'enemy' is so damn personable. At least, when Lex is done right. Sprinkles of hard corporate ambition but a good swathe of philanthropy about 'humanity as a whole'; especially when Lex is a scientist who believes patience and hard work can 'get them there' without 'gifts from aliens'.
Ugh. I just realized that in these modern times? There's gonna be 'death mask' cell phone cinematography of the moment up on youtube. Ugh. Maybe Luthor can seem the villain getting all those pulled down - sparing Dick from it.
I also enjoy the set up where Bruce & Selina are still 'heels' even though they're working for common cause. Setting Clark up like that tells a story all its own.
Meanwhile I'll be waiting to see if what happens leads to a public, permanent turn for Billionaire Brucie. Still rich and snooty/picky but the scenario with Dick is too close to 'Brucie's' reality. Whether he takes Dick in or not, it HAS to change him somehow.
Also? Alfred. I can't imagine Alfred not showing up in such a moment. Luckily he's a very good actor if acting/persona needs to happen.
Hmm I guess I enjoyed this for the future a little bit more than its present.
