Dick and Jason are my favs. I straight up admit it. My younger days issues with them calling 'Jason' ' Tim' in B:TAS. It would make you laugh.
But yes, Jason being the one who has his emotional self-worth kind of tied to the JLI? That's his refuge? Makes all the sense. And his pulling street kid heel moves on Bruce; half test, to my mind, half 'just cause I can' which is pure Jason.
I haven't watched the animated movie Red Hood; cause I just can't deal with all the issues around them bringing Jason back like that. It's one of those 'He's been my raging little fav for years, and yet I can't actually watch or read how he's been portrayed in canon since his return, cause it makes me want to slap people. With fists.'
