Latest Action Comics (Spoilers for Nightwing's identity)

Character A is a snarky, dark-haired teen with tactile telekenesis.
Character B is a sweet-tempered, light-haired pre-teen without tactile telekenesis.
Character C is a masked, snarky, dark-haired teenager with tactile telekenesis.

Would you lay odds on Character C being A or B under the mask?

Well, DC sez: "It's Character B! He's been randomly aged, his hair has turned black, and he's developed a snarky temperament and tactile telekenesis! Aren't you surprised?"

Oh DC, "surprised" doesn't even begin to cover my reaction.

The influx of child characters after OYL (Sin, Chris, Helena, Damian, Jai & Iris) was... fascinating, and I took an instant liking to all of them (with the exception of Damian of course). I have to admit that I'm a sucker for superhero moms and dads, so the cutesy moments were right up my alley. :p Still, it amused me that only Jai & Iris stayed till the end, the rest all got sent away with faked deaths and whatnots.

Damian just confuses me. I can only assume the Batclan has some weird sense of genetic loyalty to Bruce, which annoys the hell out of me. Just because he has Wayne DNA doesn't mean he gets to be Robin.

The character himself really doesn't help much, the constant brattiness is what grated on me the most. I can even wank the whole thing if he had been raised just like most kids, but the fact that they told us he was trained with the League of Assassins since birth? JUST NO.

It's a little surprising how few superhero parents there are, isn't it? I wasn't thrilled to see all those kids tacked in, but then I was a lot MORE annoyed when so many almost immediately got sent away! And I note that of the five, the kids that stayed are mostly male (no boys got canned, and 2/3 of the girls did) and all of them linked to the male superheroes. Gr.

TBH I actually think Helena and Sin got the better end of the deal compared to boys, heh. At least we know they're actually safe out there somewhere. I'm still sad over the Flash being canceled, but at least no one had to die. And it's funny how in the very same issue NW was revealed as Chris, they showed him dying at the end.

Wait, Chris dies?? (Here I confess I didn't read it!) Was this one of those Black Lantern premonition things, or does he really die? That would be...lame, lol.

I'm sure we'll see Helena and Sin someday! Some writer will decide they want to write a young woman searching for the mother who sent her away... maybe asking Batman for help unraveling the mystery...

lol, I don't actually know if he's actually going to die. :p But a gun was pointing at his head at the end of the issue (there were orders from his own parents to kill both him and Thara). And he was already in a bad shape -- apparently every time he undergoes the growth spurts, there's a lot of pain involved to the point he'd lose consciousness for a while.

Oh man, your own parents putting a hit out on you, the angst! D: Poor kid...
