I had been wondering about that, you know. In the films it is shown as a desolate, destroyed land but even Orcs need to eat. I don't even think you could satisfy that demand by raids alone. In some fic Orcs are shown to be cannibalistic almost, but your version makes much more sense.
Nurn is described as "a fertile land," unbelievable as that seems, so that must be what's up! Though the idea of orcs living off cannibalism...is very horribly plausible.
See, here my knowledge of canon is shown to be lacking again. Are they a canon thing or another of your marvellous inventions?
Nope canon! They're Men from Numenor, the great civilized island of men in the last age, who turned bad (well, lots of people from Numenor were always bad, tbh).
Gimli calling Denethor “lad” is all kinds of wonderful. As is reading a fic with a fellowship in the first year without LoR or a Hobbt film to brighten the winter. *sigh*

O M G. One half of my brain is trying not to laugh. And the other half would like to go in directions that tell me I have spent way too much time of my fandom life on kinkmemes. *ahem *
I confess I really enjoyed writing out all the crazy kinky fantasies the Nurnians have about the people of Rohan and Gondor! And the phrase "the safety of Mordor" brought me up short in shock when I wrote it, but I loved how it makes sense for them--life is awful, but out there is probably a lot more awful, right?
... That remake of "To be or not to be" is, I know, meant to be kind of funny, but is also extremely beautiful and revealing. So thank you for that, I spent quite a fair amount of time cooing over it. (Despite my extremely-delayed response!)
