As a fanfic writer, I'm kind of obsessed with picking apart male narratives and male/male interactions

I've noticed this tendency with myself as well (note how I completely neglect the only lesbian couple in my works and I way overdo the attention given to male characters and their relationships). I think it's natural to be interested in male emotional narratives because our culture denies us them, or only gives us them in very specific contexts that are overplayed and cater to dangerous stereotypes. And in my case I think there's an element of coming to terms with my own maleness.

STEPH IS THE BEST. I actually like her older appearances - it's not that she's very endearing in them, she isn't, but I love the growth arc it shows that she goes from this reckless teenager to such a strong, brave and capable figure as Batgirl.

Ugh, uuuuugh I so curse my lack of access to NXT because Charlotte Flair sounds AMAZING. I always had a soft spot for Ric so I love that she's doing well, and I hope they don't screw everything up by moving her to the main roster (I mean, I wish her success, but you know how the lady wrestlers are treated there...)

And it...sadly says a lot about how Tolkien handles women if the strongest woman in his narratives is still mainly defined by her family ties, her suffering, and then her dying in her husband's arms. With Tolkien I get by with reading too much into footnote characters (Dis and Belladonna Took are my everything).
