I was totally stumped on how to categorize wheat he does in a way that makes clear it's self-sacrificing, lol!
As a side note, I realized that the Sherlock characters match up with Superman's motto: Sherlock is Truth, John is Justice, and Lestrade and Mycroft are the (um, British) Way. *grin*
Sherlock is such a wonderful combination of completely arrogant and wonderfully attentive to John's needs here. Bravo.
I love the idea that someone could be arrogant and yet loving at the same time--to be honest, in the real world it doesn't generally work that way. :P So Sherlock is kind of an impossible ideal!
Thank you. It would have felt strange if he had used the crop... I mean it's been used on a corpse!
I know! I just shuddered at the thought...
I rewatched the Hound of Baskerville a couple of days ago - this reminded of it.
I did too, and yes! Sherlock is one of those wonderful characters who feels a lot of emotions, but then defines them all as chemical reactions (which goes back to "Scandal" as well...)
Wow. But then, John IS a writer at heart as well as a soldier.
It's definitely not his usual mode, but Sherlock has inspired him, and I do like to think he has poetry in his heart to balance Sherlock's (also beautiful) science...
I'm so glad you're enjoying this, it's made me really nervous to post this one just because it seems a topic easy to get wrong...
