I totally didn't see it the first time either, but on re-reading I do think Bradley meant Lance to be bi. There are conversations with Morgaine where he basically says he's always felt attracted to men but as a Christian it's a mortal sin, so he's tried not to be tempted. It's all very oblique, but I think definitely meant to be there. So yummy...
