"He heard my despair, my confusion, and rage and hope, and he came to me. He told me that I wasn't alone."
I love the J'onn/Kara here so, so much. Because J'onn would so reach out despite the danger, and he would be so alone... I'm glad he has Kara to back him up, they just make such a wonderful click in this universe.
Bruce leaned forward, close and then closer, and slipped the glasses onto Kal's face. "He's here," Bruce said. "We're both here."
ssdkjslkdjsldksldf!! <3 I love that he goes and says 'we're both here.' He's so wonderfully reassuring, despite his obliqueness.
Kal swallowed. "If that's what you want."
A dry laugh. "What does that have to do with anything?"
Aughh, you know Duty kills me! it kills meee! Duty-bound Bruce, putting his desires aside from his duty, it always kills me. And here, between his fear of getting used to a life with Kal, his need to fight, his absolute rootlessness. He has no home, there is no safety, there is no room for what he might like. And he's fine with it, because there are bigger things like that, and he just kills me with how determinated he is.
I love how Diana hurls the word Kryptonian like a weapon, the worst of insults she can think of. And Bruce's 'wtff???' :D :D Oiii, I want to see where this goes, what they make of it. *sigh* You weave such beautiful stories, and they have such flames at their hearts, it's always so awe inspiring to watch you spin them.
